Position Overview:

Seeking an experienced professional with at least 5 years in estimating Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings (PEMB). Candidates with backgrounds in General Contracting or Sales Engineering related to PEMB projects are encouraged to apply.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Design Engineer to understand preliminary designs and client requirements, identifying necessary components and materials.

  • Send out Request for Proposals (RFPs) to suppliers, ensuring all technical details are clearly outlined.

  • Provide timely and accurate responses to supplier questions and requests for clarification regarding the project scope.

  • Follow up with suppliers to ensure prompt submission of RFP responses.

  • Evaluate supplier bids to identify the most cost-effective solutions that meet the project's technical specifications.

  • Create and maintain detailed cost summaries using Microsoft Excel, including primary steel costs and supplier quotes.

  • Present total estimated project costs to the sales team to assist in developing client proposals.

  • Draft client proposals, consolidating all technical and commercial details for final sales approval.

  • Upon project award, review and update cost information to reflect current pricing and availability.

  • Organize and archive all project documentation in a dedicated SharePoint folder for seamless operational handoff.

  • Maintain regular communication with the Estimating Manager and Salesperson to ensure clarity and alignment throughout the proposal development process.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in estimating within the PEMB industry.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple estimates simultaneously under tight deadlines.

  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage with internal stakeholders and external vendors.

  • High degree of organization and attention to detail.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and SharePoint.

  • Familiarity with Salesforce and MBS software is a plus.
