HR Assistant – Houston, TX
Summary
LHH is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Temporary HR Assistant in Houston to support the HR and Compliance teams during the temporary leave of two employees. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking for a meaningful opportunity to contribute to a collaborative team while gaining practical HR experience.
Position Type: Full-Time Temp M-F / 6-9 Months with extension likely / 9 AM–3 PM work hours, with flexibility to reach 40 hours/week / hybrid work begins after 1–2 weeks
Location: 1406 North Sam Houston Pkwy W, Houston, TX 77038 (Hybrid: Onsite training with remote flexibility)
Compensation: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour based on experience

Daily Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing and updating Excel spreadsheets for tracking training and compliance
  • Coordinate with field training teams to support onboarding and training processes
  • Facilitate documentation and logistics for customer trainings
  • Handle administrative tasks to ensure smooth workflow for team members
  • Respond to internal email requests promptly and professionally using Outlook
  • Prepare, file, and manage HR documentation related to compliance and training
  • Support general office coordination during the absence of permanent staff
  • Participate in occasional in-person meetings after initial training phase
Typical Day-to-Day Tasks
  • Input and audit training data in Excel
  • Schedule and confirm training sessions with field staff
  • Assist with reporting and compliance logs
  • Draft basic HR communications
  • Attend brief team check-ins and contribute to updates on progress
  • Maintain organized electronic files of key HR documents
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of administrative experience, preferably in HR or compliance
  • Basic proficiency in Excel (no advanced formulas required)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience with Outlook and general office tools
  • Ability to quickly adapt and work independently after initial training
  • Must be based in Houston for onsite training; hybrid work begins after 1–2 weeks
  • Availability for 9 AM–3 PM work hours, with flexibility to reach 40 hours/week
