Job Posting: Lead Contract Manager – Offshore Subsea Decommissioning
Location: Houston, TX (HYBRID schedule – 3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
Pay Range: $65-75/hr DOE
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, Core hours: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
Duration: Long-term contract (1-2+ years)

Position Overview:
This role will focus on managing and executing subsea decommissioning projects for the Titan Platform in the Gulf of Mexico. If you have extensive experience in offshore decommissioning, subsea procurement, and contract management within the offshore oil and gas industry, we want to hear from you!
Project Subsea Scope:
This role involves overseeing pipeline isolation, cleaning, abandonment (gas and oil lines), subsea SCR disconnect, laydown, mooring line recovery, and subsea debris survey and removal. Experience with diving, ROV, pipeline flushing, and abandonment contractors is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop & Manage Procurement Strategy: Design and implement high-risk subsea procurement strategies to ensure safe, cost-effective, and timely execution of the Equinor Titan Offshore Platform Decommissioning Project.
- Market Analysis & Supplier Management: Perform market analysis to identify suppliers and innovative solutions that align with the project’s objectives.
- Contract Management: Oversee the bidding process, review proposals, and make award recommendations to senior management. Manage contract performance, timelines, budgets, and risks to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with Equinor’s Supply Chain Management processes, focusing on safety, environmental regulations (including BSEE), and integrity due diligence.
- Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with both internal teams and suppliers, ensuring effective communication and alignment with project objectives.
- Contract Implementation: Drive contract implementation in Plan-to-Pay systems, ensuring contract management from award to close-out, mitigating risks, minimizing value leakage, and promoting safety.
- Continuous Improvement: Leverage market data and digital tools for strategic sourcing and continuous improvement initiatives across the project.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (ideally related to projects, supply chain, or procurement).
- Experience:
- 10+ years of offshore oil and gas EPC/M contract establishment and contract management experience (non-negotiable).
- Offshore decommissioning and Gulf of Mexico experience preferred.
- Experience with subsea category contracts, ideally with international oil and gas producers (e.g., Shell, BP, ExxonMobil) or global service providers (e.g., Bechtel, Subsea7).
- Strong background in managing significant financial resources and procurement strategies, with experience in schedule-driven contracts.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Deep knowledge of high-risk project contracts, safety compliance, and environmental regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large offshore capital projects across different phases.
- Strong communication skills, both internally and externally, with the ability to manage expectations, requirements, threats, and opportunities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams while maintaining an independent and solution-oriented mindset.
- Commercially minded with an understanding of vendor qualification, RFI/RFP processes, and EPC/M contracts.
