LHH is seeking an OFFICE ASSISTANT for a contract-to-hire position in SE Houston, TX.

Position: OFFICE ASSISTANT

Type: Contract-to-Hire

Location: 100% onsite (Houston, TX 77058)

Compensation: $19-20/hr DOE

Work Schedule: M-F, 8 am-4:30 pm OR 8:30 am-5 pm

Position Summary:

LHH is seeking an Operations Coordinator responsible for arranging global shipments of bulk liquid chemicals, foodstuffs, and gases in ISO tanks. This role involves managing the end-to-end customer experience, ensuring compliance with company procedures, and driving continuous improvement opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and manage the end-to-end customer experience in compliance with company procedures, including booking sea freight with ocean carriers, arranging truck transportation, and working with cleaning facilities to ensure proper handling of tank containers.

• Take full financial responsibility for transports, including invoicing additional charges.

• Take ownership of customer issues and facilitate timely and effective resolution by engaging relevant stakeholders (internal/external) to achieve customer satisfaction.

• Work within Outlook and our TMS to address shipment-related issues/inquiries through frequent and timely communication to full resolution.

• Understand implications and the impact on company revenue.

• Understand and be familiar with KPIs/procedures/objectives and act in line with set targets.

• Drive continuous improvement opportunities to lower costs.

• Monitor agreed service levels, identify root causes when targets are not met, and advise management of potential service failures and/or trends.

• Always behave in a manner consistent with and loyal to HOYER values.

• Be at your desk, ready and available at your scheduled times.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required (Bachelor’s degree preferred).

• 1 to 3 years equivalent experience in the transportation industry preferred.

• Minimum 2 years customer service experience required – Import, Food, Planning, or Food Export knowledge a plus.

• Customer Service experience and/or direct call handling experience.

• Customer-facing experience a plus.

Technical Skills and Competencies:

• Excellent MS Office proficiency, specifically in Excel, Word, and Outlook.

• Must be a highly motivated self-starter who can work independently.

• Strong analytical skills.

• Ability to work successfully across organizational lines with peers, other business units, and Senior Management.

• Good verbal, written, and presentation skills.

• Ability to communicate efficiently, quickly, and provide precise details for instructions.

• Ability to provide objective feedback.

• Organizational and time management skills - multi-tasking and prioritizing, planning work activities efficiently to meet deadlines.

• Possesses a drive for results and success, conveys a sense of urgency, and overcomes obstacles and opposition to bring issues to closure.

• Works together with others in the business unit to achieve results while fostering teamwork.

• Customer/solutions focused.



Pay Details: $19.00 to $20.00 per hour
