LHH is proactively seeking a dedicated and proactive Onboarding Specialist to join our client’s HR team on a contract basis.


Job Title: Onboarding Specialist
Location: Houston area, Texas
Job Type: Contract
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM
Pay Rate: $22.00 - $30.00/hr (DOE)

As an Onboarding Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and positive onboarding experience for new hires. You will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating the onboarding process, from the initial offer acceptance to the new hire’s first day and beyond. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to create a welcoming environment for new employees.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Onboarding Coordination: Manage the end-to-end onboarding process, including preparing offer letters, coordinating pre-employment screenings, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed.

  • New Hire Orientation: Conduct new hire orientation sessions to introduce new employees to the company culture, policies, and procedures.

  • Documentation Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date onboarding documentation, including employee records and compliance forms.

  • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for new hires, providing support and answering any questions they may have during the onboarding process.

  • Training Coordination: Coordinate with various departments to schedule and facilitate training sessions for new employees.

  • Employee Engagement: Develop and implement initiatives to enhance the onboarding experience and promote employee engagement from day one.

  • Feedback Collection: Gather feedback from new hires about their onboarding experience and use this information to continuously improve the process.

  • Compliance: Ensure all onboarding activities comply with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

  • HR Support: Assist the HR team with various administrative tasks and projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience: 2-4 years of experience in HR, with a focus on onboarding or employee relations.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships and provide support to new hires.

  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with the capability to manage competing priorities.

  • Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with HRIS systems.

  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail in documentation, scheduling, and compliance tasks.

  • Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly resolve onboarding issues and provide effective solutions.

  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Confidentiality: Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive HR information.
