LHH is seeking a PLANNING CLERK for a contract-to-hire position in Webster, TX.

Position: PLANNING CLERK
Type: Contract-to-hire
Location: 100% onsite (77058 zip code)
Pay Range: $21-25/hr DOE
Work Schedule: M-F, 7:30-4:30, 8-5, or 8:30-5:30

SUMMARY:

Seeking a Planning Operator for the Operations Department. The ideal candidate must possess a comprehensive knowledge of importing/exporting in the transportation business, including concepts and practices.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Receive load and discharge orders

  • Optimal tank/transport planning

  • Day-to-day updating of depot lists, including advising Export/Import Operators

  • Ensure tank container/transport information is given to Export/Import Operator

  • Ensure necessary transport documents are created and sent

  • Control deviations from planned activities via Cost sheet/Improvement/Service Failure Form (ISF)

  • Recommend procedural improvements

  • Comply with company regulations, including DOT/CFR 49, IMDG, and this document

  • Job control of department (financial check on job performed)

  • Supply information and instructions to approved logistics providers in cooperation with Procurement and Planning Supervisor

  • Advise supervisor of demand/surplus of equipment in responsible area

  • Continual advisement to supervisor of new developments in areas that impact equipment availability

  • Inform supervisor of problems/deviations among group co-workers

  • Share day-to-day operations/experience with co-workers

  • Interaction with other departments, suppliers, branch offices, and customers

  • Other job duties, as assigned

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 1-3 years’ work experience, including as a team member/player

  • Strong computer application skills

  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Detail-oriented



Pay Details: $21.00 to $25.00 per hour
