Property Accountant-Hybrid Schedule
Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Property Accountant with 2 years of experience in property management accounting to join a team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of property accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage financial records effectively. This role involves handling day-to-day accounting functions related to property management and contributing to accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Record Keeping:
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts related to property management, including rent rolls, operating expenses, and security deposits.
Record and process financial transactions, including rent receipts, vendor invoices, and disbursements.
Accounts Payable/Receivable:
Manage accounts payable functions, including the review and processing of invoices and payment to vendors.
Oversee accounts receivable functions, including the preparation of tenant invoices, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts.
Monthly Reconciliation:
Perform monthly reconciliations of bank statements and property management accounts to ensure accuracy.
Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
Financial Reporting:
Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for assigned properties.
Lease Administration:
Ensure accurate accounting for lease agreements, including the recording of rental income, lease payments, and other related transactions.
Verify that all lease-related charges and credits are applied correctly.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience in property management within the real estate industry.
Proficiency in accounting software and property management systems (e.g., Yardi, MRI, or similar).
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
