Job Title: Purchasing Administrative Support /Clerk
Location: Houston area, Texas
Job Type: Contract
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM
Pay Rate: $22.00 - $28.00/hr (DOE)
As a Purchasing Administrative Support specialist, you will assist with processing purchase orders, vendor communication, maintaining procurement records, and supporting the purchasing team with day-to-day administrative duties. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience working in a purchasing or procurement environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Process purchase orders and track order status to ensure timely delivery.
Communicate with vendors regarding order confirmations, shipments, and discrepancies.
Maintain accurate purchasing records and files.
Assist with vendor setup and documentation compliance.
Coordinate procurement schedules and follow up on pending orders.
Support invoice processing and assist with matching purchase orders to invoices.
Prepare reports related to purchasing activities and inventory status.
Collaborate with internal departments to clarify order requirements and resolve issues.
Assist with procurement-related projects and process improvements.
Perform general administrative tasks to support the purchasing team.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience: 2+ years in purchasing, procurement, or administrative support role.
Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with procurement software or ERP systems is a plus.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Organization: Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Attention to Detail: High accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
Problem-Solving: Ability to address and resolve procurement issues effectively.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with vendors and internal teams.
Confidentiality: Handle sensitive procurement information with discretion.
