LHH is looking for a Senior Accountant for our client who will be responsible for monthly close and consolidations, monthly and quarterly reporting, assisting with reviews and audits, preparing policies and procedures, and engaging in process improvement activities for Corporate Accounting.
Job Description
Manage full-cycle general ledger accounting for corporate entities, including journal entries, month-end close procedures, account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and other accounting activities.
Ensure accurate monthly consolidation, including handling foreign currency translation, intercompany reconciliation, and eliminations.
Prepare monthly internal financial reports for upper management, ensuring accuracy and completeness of accounting records and related analyses.
Conduct ad-hoc analyses as assigned.
Support external financial reporting and SEC filings with prepared reports.
Prepare schedules for quarterly reviews and year-end audits with external audit firms.
Ensure adherence to internal controls within the area of responsibility.
Establish, modify, and implement new Corporate Accounting control procedures as needed.
Stay current with GAAP and ensure compliance with new accounting pronouncements.
Identify and enhance major performance areas through computerization and/or paper flow improvements.
Perform primary thinking tasks encompassed by this job description.
Any additional responsibilities or tasks assigned.
Qualifications, Education, and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with three or more years of progressive experience in public accounting or four or more years in industry is required. Chemical/refinery experience is preferred.
Consolidations experience required.
CPA and/or MBA preferred.
Knowledge of general and cost accounting and financial statement preparation is required.
Familiarity with computerized accounting systems, including SAP and SAP BPC, is preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, is required.
Pay Details: $80,000.00 to $110,000.00 per year
