Senior Property Accountant
LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a Commercial Real Estate firm here in Houston seeking a Senior Property Management Accountant. The Property Accountant will be responsible for preparing property reconciliations, budgets and financial reports for commercial properties. This is a visible position with the opportunity to gain exposure and grow within the organization.
Primary responsibilities of the Senior Property Management Accountant role include:
Prepare journal entries to general ledger accountants
Complete corresponding account reconciliations
Ensuring accounting books for properties are accurate
Enter reclasses and accruals
Request disbursements and assign account numbers
Provide preliminary reports for review to properties
Coordinate closely with accounts payable team
Manage close calendar for assigned properties
Perform CAM calculations and reconciliations
Primary qualifications include:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
3+ years of related experience in property management accounting
Yardi, MRI or other related ERP systems experience
Sound understanding of GAAP and use of MS Excel
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
