Technical Accounting Manager

LHH Professional Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Technical Accounting Manager our Houston area oil and gas client. This is a dynamic position for a professional candidate with sound experience in contract negotiations and implementation of commercial agreements, regulatory compliance and M&A transactions. Primary responsibilities of the Technical Accounting Manager opportunity include:

• Refining and establishing core accounting policies and standards

• Ensuring proper interpretation and application of IFRS standards

• Act as an advisor to the business regarding financial information and proper procedures

• Liaison to external auditors and audit and risk committee

• Controls improvement and implementation

• Work with ERP project leaders to ensure proper systems controls

Primary qualifications include, but are not limited to:

• Bachelor’s in accounting, finance, commerce or adjacent

• 5+ years public accounting background, maybe in an advisory capacity

• CPA or Chartered Accountant, preferred

• Deep knowledge of IFRS, applying financial standards and internal controls to training and procedures, with an aspect of deploying those things into systems when they are installed or updated

• Upstream oil and gas background, strongly preferred

• Experience with mergers and acquisitions

• Analytical mindset, understands the detail, knows how to strategize through what needs to take place next, resourceful
