Credit and Collection Specialist – Contract Position | Up to $20/hr| Cleveland, OH

LHH is currently hiring on behalf of a well-established client in the Cleveland area for a Credit and Collection Specialist. This is a contract position ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and is passionate about maintaining strong customer relationships while ensuring timely collections.


About the Role

As a Credit and Collection Specialist, you will play a key role in managing the company’s accounts receivable portfolio. You will be responsible for evaluating credit applications, monitoring outstanding balances, and working directly with customers to resolve payment issues. This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative finance team and make a measurable impact.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review and assess credit applications and establish credit limits

  • Monitor aging reports and follow up on past-due accounts

  • Communicate with customers to resolve billing discrepancies and secure payments

  • Maintain accurate records of collection activities and customer interactions

  • Collaborate with internal departments to support cash flow and credit risk management

What You Bring

  • 1 or more years of experience in credit, collections, or accounts receivable

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks

  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

  • A customer-focused mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving
