Benefits Specialist

LHH is seeking a Benefits Specialist to support our clients’ Health & Welfare benefit programs. This role involves providing responsive customer service, managing vendor communications, and ensuring accurate and compliant benefits administration. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.


Pay Rate: $27/hour depending on experience

“Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits, and 401K plan. Our program provides employees the flexibility to choose the type of coverage that meets their individual needs. Available paid leave may include Paid Sick Leave, where required by law; any other paid leave required by Federal, State, or local law; and Holiday pay upon meeting eligibility criteria.”


Location: Irvine, CA 92602 - 100% Onsite
Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to employee inquiries via phone and email regarding health and welfare benefits and enrollment.

  • Administer group benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, flexible spending accounts, and COBRA.

  • Process daily benefits transactions such as:

  • Qualifying life event changes

  • Beneficiary and dependent updates

  • Benefit deduction adjustments

  • Disability, accident, and death claims

  • National Support Orders and employment/wage verifications

  • Monitor and manage the Employee Benefits inbox.

  • Research and resolve employee inquiries using internal systems (e.g., WinTeam).

  • Enter and update package dates in WinTeam.

  • Track and document carrier EDI file calls and maintain a calendar of key dates.

  • Update Excel spreadsheets with benefits-related data.

  • Maintain administrative procedures for benefits processes.

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations (ERISA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, DOL).

  • Support special projects as assigned by the Benefits Manager.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED).

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in benefits administration or a related HR support role.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, Finance, or a related field.

  • Familiarity with WinTeam or similar HRIS/benefits systems.

  • Experience with Health & Welfare benefits and carrier communications.



Pay Details: $25.00 to $27.00 per hour
