LHH has partnered with a well-established construction company in Irving, TX. They are hiring a Staff Accountant on a contract-to-hire basis. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations and project management. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity paying $30-32/hour. Perform core general ledger activities, including preparing journal entries, managing accruals, and conducting account reconciliations.
Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely completion and accuracy of financial data.
Prepare and maintain detailed account reconciliations and supporting documentation.
Assist in the preparation of internal financial reports and statements.
Ensure transactions are properly classified and in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Contribute to the development and enhancement of accounting procedures and internal controls.
Participate in internal and external audits by providing required documentation and support.
Handle special projects and respond to ad hoc reporting requests from management.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll, to ensure cohesive financial operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree preferred
2+ years of experience.
Working knowledge of GAAP
Construction industry experience, highly preferred
Intermediate MS Office skills with advanced MS Excel skills (v-lookups, pivots, formulas).
Strong analytical problem-solving aptitude with creative solutions, ability to organize work with large amounts of information efficiently, manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both in writing and verbally, with management, vendors
Experience working in a team environment
