LHH Recruitment Solutions is actively recruiting a Resident Care Coordinator for a client in Irwindale, CA on a contract-to-hire basis. This position will be on- site in the Irwindale, CA area.
Compensation: $21-23/hr Type: Contract to hire
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of 20-25 households.
Quickly enroll participants referred, ensuring all necessary documentation is gathered and creating Housing and Services Plans in partnership with participants.
Connect participants with essential resources to support housing stability, such as medical, mental health, substance use services, employment, and more.
Home visits are required at least once a month, with weekly visits for unhoused participants.
Provide trauma-informed care that aligns with Housing First and Harm Reduction principles, following agency and funder guidelines while adhering to legal and ethical standards.
Advocate for participants facing housing barriers, such as poor credit or eviction history, while maintaining professional relationships with landlords and property owners.
Ensure landlords respect tenant rights and educate participants on lease agreements and expectations.
Refer participants to legal services when necessary to prevent evictions or resolve tenant rights issues.
Submit monthly rental packets that accurately reflect participants' financial needs and progress toward financial independence, considering program timelines.
Conduct annual recertifications, including assessing ongoing eligibility and inspecting units.
Assist participants in transitioning to more supportive housing options, such as shallow subsidies, housing vouchers, or permanent supportive housing, and relocate participants when necessary.
Explore opportunities for community integration to support long-term housing retention and prepare participants for successful service termination.
Participate in regular supervision, staff meetings, and agency-wide trainings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Work primarily indoors with occasional exposure to outdoor weather and driving conditions.
Able to work under time constraints, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing demands.
Travel for off-site meetings or activities may be required.
Familiar with crisis and permanent housing resources throughout Los Angeles County
Understanding of HUD guidelines and experience with subsidized housing programs.
Knowledge of best practices such as Housing First, Trauma-Informed Care, Mental Health Recovery, Harm Reduction, and Critical Time Intervention.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to document case notes accurately and clearly.
Valid California driver's license and access to a registered vehicle.
A Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field; or
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a related human services field
