LHH is looking for a part-time Accounts Payable Specialist to join our client growing company. This position will be a 1 year contract that is remote.
Job Overview: The Part-Time Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for supporting the accounts payable function by processing invoices, ensuring timely payments to vendors, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently within a part-time schedule. The AP Specialist will work closely with the accounting team to ensure that payments and expenses are properly managed.
Key Responsibilities:
Invoice Processing:
Review, verify, and process vendor invoices for accuracy, coding, and proper authorization. Ensure all invoices are entered into the accounting system in a timely manner.
Payment Processing:
Prepare and execute payments to vendors through checks, ACH transfers, or wire payments, ensuring deadlines are met.
Vendor Management:
Communicate with vendors regarding payment inquiries, discrepancies, and resolve issues to maintain good relationships.
Expense Report Processing:
Review employee expense reports for accuracy and compliance with company policies. Ensure timely reimbursement of approved expenses.
AP Reconciliation:
Assist in reconciling AP sub-ledger to the general ledger on a regular basis and address any discrepancies.
Purchase Order Matching:
Match purchase orders with invoices and investigate any mismatches or discrepancies with internal departments and vendors.
Record Maintenance:
Maintain accurate and organized AP files, including invoices, payment records, and vendor documentation.
Assistance with Month-End Closing:
Support the accounting team during month-end close by ensuring all AP transactions are recorded and reconciled.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as regulatory requirements, such as sales tax and 1099 vendor reporting.
Qualifications:
Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; relevant experience may substitute for education.
2+ years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting.
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office software.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong communication skills for vendor interaction.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a part-time capacity.
Compensation: $24-$26/hour DOE
