We’re partnering with a CPA firm in the Kansas City Metro that is looking to bring on a Bookkeeper/Payroll Manager. This role is direct hire and fully onsite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process weekly, biweekly, monthly, quarterly, and on-demand payrolls.

  • Enter new employees into the system and ensure all required documentation is submitted.

  • Compile and report tip information for payroll inclusion.

  • Prepare direct deposits and schedule tax payments (federal, state, and unemployment).

  • Prepare and file quarterly payroll reports (Federal 941, State 941, Federal 940, State Unemployment).

  • Prepare year-end payroll reports including W-2s and related filings.

  • Coordinate W-4 filings with federal and state agencies.

  • Calculate and file monthly/quarterly sales and use tax returns.

  • Schedule and prepare estimated tax payments for clients.

  • Respond to workers’ compensation and I-9 audits.

  • Prepare and renew business, occupational, and liquor licenses at city, county, and state levels.

  • Log incoming client information using workflow tracking systems.

  • Maintain inventory of payroll checks and year-end forms (W-2s, 1099s, 1098s, etc.).

  • Coordinate annual 1099 preparation, including client communication and tracking.

  • Process and scan tax return documents (individual, corporate, partnership), e-file returns, and manage client document returns.

  • Set up new clients across internal systems and client portals.

  • Provide basic office support: copying, filing, scanning, mailing, answering phones, and front desk coverage.

Qualifications

  • Prior payroll processing experience, all aspects of payroll, new employee set up, processing, quarterly filings, etc...

  • Organized, Punctual, Reliable, positive customer service attitude

  • Excellent communication skills and positive attitude

  • Prior tax preparation experience

  • Previous office experience with financial information, payroll, and/or other areas and a desire to learn

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, Outlook

  • Preferred - QuickBooks experience

  • Preferred - Associates or higher degree in business or accounting field

Salary: $60,000 - $70,000/Yearly



Pay Details: $60,000.00 to $75,000.00 per year
