LHH is working with a client within the construction industry here in KC metro, that currently is in search for a Accountant with a construction background in auditing.

• Perform routine engagement procedures timely and professionally, including preparing and reviewing audit engagements.

• Meet assigned deadlines or budgets, providing advanced warning of variances.

• Familiar with audit standards, concepts, practices, and procedures.

• Train and mentor staff on both day-to-day and long-term basis, balancing workload between self and staff.

• Provide forward-looking, creative, and innovative services.

• Work primarily within the Construction & Real Estate Industry Line.

• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key business decision makers throughout the year, communicating value and informing them of the firm’s scope of services.

• Provide guidance and expertise in the performance of audit procedures.

• Research technical accounting and auditing topics as they arise.

• Supervise and review the work of others.

• Demonstrate excellence in people development, leadership, and professionalism.

• Collaborate with audit seniors to plan objectives and determine an audit strategy that appropriately addresses risk.

• Monitor the audit engagement team against the original audit plan and budget, altering if necessary.

• Understand the audit client’s industry and marketplace.

• Develop team members by effectively delegating to all levels of the audit team and encouraging them to take responsibility for their contributions.

• Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge with audit team members, and enhance service delivery.

• Apply effective project management skills to plan and coordinate multiple engagements.

• Demonstrate advanced technical knowledge through written and verbal communication, continuously developing communication skills.

• Assist in generating new business opportunities by developing ideas and solutions.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
