EPLI Appeals Specialist – Client Accounting

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
Location: Hybrid (1 day/week in-office; initial training onsite)
Compensation: $20/hour

Position Summary:

The EPLI Appeals Specialist will support the Client Accounting team by managing appeals processes, performing data entry and formatting in Excel, and collaborating with internal teams. This role is not client-facing and requires strong attention to detail, adaptability, and communication skills. Our ideal candidate would have medical billing experience and strong excel skills. This is a 6-month contract with potential to go permanent for the right person and would pay $20/hour. Read below for additional details!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and format Excel spreadsheets; perform data entry

  • Process appeals from attorneys and coordinate with internal teams

  • Communicate with attorneys and internal personnel regarding invoice and appeal statuses

  • Reconcile and report on appeal statuses during month-end and other cycles

  • Collaborate with eBilling and A/R teams to streamline appeal processes

  • Track all carrier appeals in an accessible format

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations

  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, completeness, and professionalism in all communications


Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in accounting or related field, or 3+ years of relevant experience

  • Legal or medical billing preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook

  • Experience with Elite, ARCS, DTE, and Intapp Time preferred

  • Ability to manage high-volume workloads with accuracy

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills



Pay Details: $19.00 to $20.00 per hour
