LHH is looking for a Litigation Paralegal for a boutique firm located in downtown Kansas City. We’re looking for someone with real-world litigation experience—particularly in medical malpractice and trial preparation—who can hit the ground running.


What You’ll Do

  • Prepare federal and state electronic filings

  • Manage case files and documentation from intake through trial

  • Collect, organize, and analyze discovery materials (especially medical records)

  • Create detailed medical and litigation chronologies

  • Draft litigation support documents (e.g., subpoenas, notices, motions, certificates of service)

  • Support attorneys through all phases of trial preparation and courtroom proceedings


More about the firm:

  • Team-Based Structure: Paralegals are not assigned to specific attorneys—work is distributed based on capacity and caseload, allowing for flexibility and exposure to a wide range of cases.

  • No Billable Hour Requirement: While there’s no formal billing target, there is a bonus opportunity for 1,300 billable hours annually.

  • On-the-Job Training: Our current team of experienced paralegals will help you onboard and get up to speed quickly.

  • In-Office Culture: This role is fully on-site (5 days/week) to foster collaboration. Remote work may be permitted occasionally with prior approval.


What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in litigation support—particularly in medical malpractice and trial preparation

  • Ability to independently manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines

  • Proficiency with MS Office, TABS, and Docsvault (or similar legal software)

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills


Education Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies or Paralegal Certificate required

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred


Compensation & Benefits

Salary is commensurate with experience and education - $60,000 - $68,000, with a comprehensive benefits package, including:
