Payroll Specialist
LHH is assisting with a search for a Payroll Specialist for a client in Kansas City, MO. We are looking for someone to work on-site with pay starting at $25/hour and going up based on experience. Our ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of payroll experience with some additional accounting experience. Read below for additional details!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Review payroll weekly and biweekly.
· Enter new employees in Company database.
· Maintains database changes related to terminations, raises, changes in banking and address forms.
· Maintains master employee lists.
· Maintains employee benefits lists.
· Prepare 1094 forms.
· Prepare monthly union reports, submit to union for payment, and wage reporting by union deadlines.
· Prepares and print termination/layoff paychecks.
· Collaborate with human resources as needed.
· Resolve issues and answer payroll-related questions.
· File and keep all employee records organized.
· Prepare workpapers, etc. for annual audit and respond to auditor’s requests for annual audit.
· PSL accrual.
· Purchase Orders.
· Credit card reconciliations.
REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
· A least 3 years of payroll experience with some exposure to Union Payroll
· Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent self-management as well as project management skills
· Great attention to detail and superior organizational skills
