LHH is working with a client in the downtown Kansas City, MO area who is seeking to hire a Safety Coordinator. The Safety Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety programs to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. This role plays a critical part in maintaining compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards, conducting training, and fostering a culture of safety across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by collaborating with personnel.
- Monitor facilities and crews for OSHA compliance and accident prevention.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct safety audits in-house and on construction sites.
- Manage Workers’ Compensation cases, including documentation and follow-ups.
- Develop and implement corporate safety programs and policies.
- Order and distribute personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety gear.
- Inspect safety equipment for compliance and functionality.
- Conduct OSHA-required annual safety training for employees.
- Travel as needed for training, audits, and inspections.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in safety/safety management preferred
- 2 – 5 years of experience working in a safety capacity is preferred
- Computer literacy is a must {Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Organized and detail-oriented to self-manage projects and priorities

- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
