LHH is looking for a Staff Accountant for a full-time position in Kansas City, Missouri. The Staff Accountant is responsible for timely and accurate reporting of financial information including preparation of detailed accounting analyses and reconciliations.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for timely and accurate preparation of financial accounting data in a variety of areas. It is essential that this candidate brings analytical and organizational skills in order to best support the accounting team.

Responsibilities

• Review accounts payable and receipting entries completed by Specialists.

• Process, code, and record complex invoices and reimbursement requests.

• File monthly sales tax returns as required for various units.

• Prepare and input journal entries according to established accounting procedures.

• Perform bank account reconciliations for designated and non-designated locations.

• Review ledgers associated with related funds and accounts.

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.

• Prepare monthly financial statements to be reviewed by the Accounting Manager, ensuring final completion by the 15th of the month.

• Input annual and revised budgets for units into the accounting software.

• Prepare written reviews of budget variances on a monthly and as-needed basis.

• Maintain records in compliance with established policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Economics, or Finance or relevant experience in place of degree.

• 0 - 3 years' experience in accounting

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
