Job Title: Accounting Clerk
Location: Knoxville, TN
Pay Rate: $19 - $21 per hour
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Position Summary:
The Accounting Clerk will play a key role in supporting our accounting department by handling various financial tasks, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and contributing to the smooth operation of our financial processes. This role requires a high level of accuracy, organizational skills, and a proactive attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily accounting operations, including data entry and reconciliation.
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions.
- Maintain and update financial records and documentation.
- Prepare and review invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports.
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Support internal and external audit processes as needed.
- Provide general administrative support to the accounting team.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or clerical role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members.
Pay Details: $19.00 to $21.00 per hour
