LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a company in the Real Estate space. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President of Accounting to join our team in a newly created role. Reporting directly to the Chief Accounting Officer, the VP of Accounting will oversee all accounting functions and manage a team of 20 employees. This role requires a strong background in public accounting and a CPA certification.

Job Description: Vice President of Accounting

Location: Hybrid to Lakewood, NJ


Salary: $200,000 - $235,000 per year

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the accounting department, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information.

  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Provide strategic financial guidance to support the company's growth and profitability.

  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of journal entries and reconciliations.

  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.

  • Collaborate with other departments to support budgeting and forecasting processes.

  • Conduct regular audits to ensure financial integrity and compliance with regulations.

  • Mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to ensure the company remains competitive.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • CPA certification is required.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, with a strong background in public accounting highly preferred.

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within the commercial and industrial real estate industry.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
