LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a company in the Real Estate space. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President of Accounting to join our team in a newly created role. Reporting directly to the Chief Accounting Officer, the VP of Accounting will oversee all accounting functions and manage a team of 20 employees. This role requires a strong background in public accounting and a CPA certification.
Job Description: Vice President of Accounting
Location: Hybrid to Lakewood, NJ
Salary: $200,000 - $235,000 per year
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the accounting department, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Provide strategic financial guidance to support the company's growth and profitability.
Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of journal entries and reconciliations.
Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
Collaborate with other departments to support budgeting and forecasting processes.
Conduct regular audits to ensure financial integrity and compliance with regulations.
Mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to ensure the company remains competitive.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA certification is required.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, with a strong background in public accounting highly preferred.
Proven experience in a leadership role within the commercial and industrial real estate industry.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
