ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT
Accounting Department

West suburban professional services firm seeks full time (Direct Hire) Accounting Assistant to provide support to accounting department with a specialized focus in accounts receivable!



Responsibilities include:


  • Assisting with client billing and creating invoices on behalf of services rendered, billable hours and firm fees

  • Responding to client requests for updated statements and resolving any discrepancies

  • Maintaining the entry and setup of new client accounts within CRM and accounting systems

  • Processing incoming payments daily, including checks, credit card payments, e-checks, wires and ACH

  • Communicate with clients via phone and email regarding past due payment information and collections efforts

  • Investigate disputes, missing account information, accounts receivable issues and provide resolution to collect outstanding payments and decrease aging

  • Skip trace and research contact information changes for clients

  • Preparing documents such as invoices, statements, reports, etc.


Qualifications:


  • Strong attention to detail

  • Willingness to learn and work as part of a team.

  • Successful experience in collections and accounts receivable background

  • General understanding of accounting procedures and GAAP

  • Accounting education or 2+ years’ experience preferred


Benefits Include:


  • Summer hours – Get off at 12:00 on Fridays!

  • Normal business hours: 8:30a-5:00p or 8:00a-4:30p
