Job Title: Technical Training Instructor

Location: Liverpool, NY
Travel: Primarily on-site with occasional travel for remote trainings (1-2 times/year).

Work Type: M - F, Standard Business Hours

Work Type: Contract with possibility of extending!

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Technical Training Instructor to deliver high-quality technical training to our team members, primarily in-person at our Liverpool, NY facility. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in their field, particularly in gas, electric, or safety disciplines, and will work closely with supervisor and manager-level staff to ensure they meet our technical, regulatory, and safety learning objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, hands-on training programs at the Henry Clay Training Facility, focusing on real-world scenarios to reinforce technical skills.

  • Act as a subject matter expert, advising on technical training programs and supporting departments with technical inquiries.

  • Design and develop structured training plans, assessments, and instructor materials to meet business needs and regulatory standards.

  • Conduct assessments to evaluate technical competency, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

  • Collaborate with various departments to update training materials in response to new equipment, procedures, or technology.

  • Participate as a subject matter expert in the creation and modification of training programs to enhance employee technical skills.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on industry best practices and training advancements to incorporate into our programs.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in the technical field (gas, electric, or safety disciplines) - Required.

  • Strong foundational knowledge of technical training and safety standards.

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple training projects and deadlines.

  • Proficiency with personal computers and business-related software.

  • Must be teachable and willing to adapt instructional methods to diverse learning styles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in training delivery, instructional design, or curriculum development.

  • Familiarity with adult learning theory and training best practices.

  • Certification or formal education in education, safety, or a related technical field.

Key Attributes:

  • Excellent communication skills, including presentation and active listening skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and adapt training content to meet the needs of diverse groups.

  • Strong decision-making and time management skills.
