Insurance Coverage Attorney
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Pay Rate: Up to $85/hour
Position Type: Contract, Remote, Full-Time (40 hours per week)
LHH is partnering with a reputable law firm seeking an experienced Insurance Coverage Attorney for a fully remote contract opportunity. This role is ideal for a seasoned attorney with at least 7 years of experience handling complex insurance coverage and/or bad faith litigation. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of first-party and third-party coverage issues, including commercial general liability, professional liability, medical malpractice, professional allied health matters, workers compensation, and/or property and casualty policies. Experience drafting detailed coverage opinions, evaluating insurer and insured obligations, and litigating declaratory relief and bad faith claims in both California state and federal courts is essential.
Responsibilities:
Represent clients in insurance coverage and bad faith litigation matters across California
Handle all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation
Conduct in-depth legal research and draft high-level legal documents, including coverage opinions, dispositive motions, and settlement agreements
Analyze insurance policies and assess coverage issues across a variety of lines
Manage caseload independently while collaborating with other team members and firm leadership as needed
Attend virtual hearings, depositions, mediations, and client meetings
Qualifications:
7+ years of experience in insurance coverage and/or bad faith litigation
Licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar
Proven litigation experience in both California state and federal courts
Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Pay Details: $75.00 to $85.00 per hour
