Job Title: Payroll Clerk (Part-Time: 24-32 hours a week)

Location: Los Angeles

Pay Rate: $27-$29 an hour

Position Overview: As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for compiling, verifying, and recording payroll data, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and producing accurate and timely bi-monthly payrolls. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Compile, verify, and record payroll data, including hours worked, vacation time, sick leave, and wages.

  2. Maintain payroll information and ensure accuracy in the software system.

  3. Produce accurate bi-monthly payrolls using internal systems/applications.

  4. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

  5. Process special payroll transactions such as corrections and final checks.

  6. Track and update benefits, and communicate with third-party administrators.

  7. Generate and review year-end accrual documentation for annual audits.

  8. Collaborate with HR and other departments to resolve payroll issues.

  9. Assist the CFO with system configuration and legislative changes.

  10. Participate in employee training related to onboarding and payroll rules.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred.

  • 2-4 years of related experience

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in ADP WORFORCE NOW.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
