Job Title: Staff Accountant (Grant Accounting Focus)
Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA
Compensation: $31.25-$36.06 Hourly
Our client, a non-profit in Downtown Los Angeles is looking for a Staff Accountant with a strong focus on grant accounting and billing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of grants, ensuring compliance with grant requirements, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the accounting and billing for a total of 16 grants.
Ensure compliance with grant requirements and regulations.
Prepare and submit financial reports to grantors in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all grant-related transactions.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts for grant-funded projects.
Collaborate with program managers to ensure proper allocation of grant funds.
Monitor grant expenditures and ensure they are in line with approved budgets.
Assist in the annual audit process and provide necessary documentation for grant-related audits.
Support the finance team with other accounting tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a non-profit organization.
Strong understanding of grant accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Experience with NetSuite is highly preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Pay Details: $31.25 to $36.05 per hour
