LHH Recruitment Solutions is looking for a cash application specialist for a client in Mason OH. The Cash Application Specialist is responsible for accurately applying incoming payments to customer accounts in a timely manner. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the integrity of the accounts receivable ledger and ensuring a smooth cash flow process. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, experience with high-volume transactions, and a customer-focused mindset. This position is Temp to Hire and will pay between $20 and $24/hr.
Responsibilities:
- Process and apply daily cash receipts from various payment sources including ACH, wire transfers, checks, and lockbox deposits
- Reconcile payment discrepancies and resolve unapplied or misapplied cash issues
- Collaborate with internal departments such as Sales, Collections, and Customer Service to resolve payment issues and ensure accurate account maintenance
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all cash application activities in the ERP system
- Research and respond to customer inquiries regarding payment application and account balances
- Assist in month-end closing activities by preparing reports and reconciling accounts receivable sub-ledgers
- Monitor and manage unapplied cash and ensure timely resolution
- Support audits by providing documentation and explanations related to cash application processes
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in cash application or accounts receivable, preferably in a leasing or financial services environment
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
