We are seeking a detail-oriented and certified Medical Coder to work remotely (MUST live on Hawaiian Islands). The ideal candidate will have expertise in coding medical diagnoses and procedures, with a deep understanding of various coding systems, including ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS. As a key member of our team, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and efficient coding practices that support our healthcare operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and analyze medical records to extract relevant information and assign appropriate codes.
Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, regulations, and payer requirements.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve coding discrepancies and clarify documentation.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding standards, guidelines, and changes in healthcare regulations.
Conduct regular audits to ensure coding accuracy and identify areas for improvement.
Generate and review coding reports and statistics as needed.
Provide support and guidance on coding issues to other team members.
Qualifications:
Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent certification is required.
Minimum of 1+ years of experience in medical coding, preferably in a remote setting.
Proficient in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and coding software.
Must reside in the Hawaiian Islands.
