Third Party Insurance Follow-Up Representative
Location: On-Site | Melville, NY 11747
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $23 – $26 per hour (based on experience)
Employment Type: Full-Time | On-Site
Job Overview:
We are actively seeking a Third-Party Insurance Follow-Up Representative to join our on-site team in Melville, NY. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and resolving outstanding insurance claims with third-party payers in a timely and accurate manner. This is a critical role in our revenue cycle team and requires in-depth knowledge of insurance processes and strong problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform thorough follow-up on outstanding third-party payer claims to ensure timely payment and resolution.
Review EOBs, denials, and rejections; submit appeals and corrected claims when necessary.
Communicate directly with insurance carriers to resolve delays or discrepancies.
Analyze accounts to determine appropriate course of action to collect balances.
Document all follow-up activity and maintain updated account information in the billing system.
Collaborate with other billing and collections team members to escalate issues and ensure accurate account resolution.
Adhere to HIPAA regulations and organizational policies for privacy and compliance.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience in medical billing and third-party insurance follow-up.
Strong understanding of commercial insurance processes, claim adjudication, and denial management.
Proficiency in billing systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
