Part-Time Payroll Specialist

LHH Recruitment Solutions is looking for a part-time payroll specialist for a growing client in the Milford, OH area. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for all manufacturing employees. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll systems, labor regulations, and union agreements (if applicable), as well as the ability to collaborate with HR, Finance, and Operations teams. This position is part-time with approximately 20-24 hours per week. Pay for this position will range between $20 and $24/hr. and it is 100% onsite in Milford.

Responsibilities:
  • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, promotions, and pay rate changes
  • Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Coordinate with HR and department managers to verify timekeeping data and resolve attendance issues
  • Ensure accurate calculation and distribution of overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, and other special pay
  • Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and reports as required
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and timekeeping policies
  • Support audits and ensure payroll records are maintained in accordance with company policies and legal requirements
  • Collaborate with Finance to support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Stay current on changes in payroll laws and regulations affecting the manufacturing industry

Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred but not required
  • 2+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong knowledge of wage and hour laws, including FLSA and state-specific regulations
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
