Part-Time Payroll Specialist
LHH Recruitment Solutions is looking for a part-time payroll specialist for a growing client in the Milford, OH area. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for all manufacturing employees. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll systems, labor regulations, and union agreements (if applicable), as well as the ability to collaborate with HR, Finance, and Operations teams. This position is part-time with approximately 20-24 hours per week. Pay for this position will range between $20 and $24/hr. and it is 100% onsite in Milford.
Responsibilities:
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, promotions, and pay rate changes
- Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Coordinate with HR and department managers to verify timekeeping data and resolve attendance issues
- Ensure accurate calculation and distribution of overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, and other special pay
- Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and reports as required
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and timekeeping policies
- Support audits and ensure payroll records are maintained in accordance with company policies and legal requirements
- Collaborate with Finance to support month-end and year-end close processes
- Stay current on changes in payroll laws and regulations affecting the manufacturing industry
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred but not required
- 2+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong knowledge of wage and hour laws, including FLSA and state-specific regulations
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
