Job Title: Compensation Analyst
Pay Rate: $50–$65 per hour
Location: New Berlin, WI
Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Compensation Analyst to support the development and maintenance of equitable and competitive compensation programs within the education sector. This role will analyze compensation data, develop salary structures, ensure compliance with internal policies and state/federal regulations, and support compensation strategy to attract and retain top educational talent.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct market research and benchmarking to evaluate and adjust compensation structures for various roles across academic and non-academic departments
Analyze internal salary data to ensure consistency, equity, and compliance with compensation policies
Assist in the development and administration of job classifications, salary ranges, and pay grades
Collaborate with HR and department leadership to review job descriptions and determine appropriate compensation levels
Support annual salary planning, budgeting, and merit increase processes
Prepare compensation reports and dashboards for leadership decision-making
Ensure compliance with relevant laws and guidelines (e.g., FLSA, pay transparency laws, internal equity practices)
Participate in compensation surveys and analyze results to inform strategy
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field (Master’s or CCP certification a plus)
3+ years of compensation analysis experience, preferably within education, government, or non-profit environments
Strong understanding of compensation principles, structures, and compliance issues
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and HRIS systems (Workday, PeopleSoft, or similar)
Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential data with discretion
