Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized International Import/Export Coordinator to manage the end-to-end logistics process for global shipments. This role ensures compliance with all international trade regulations while maintaining efficient and timely movement of goods across international borders.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers, and a strong understanding of global trade documentation, customs procedures, and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and monitor all international shipments (air, ocean, and courier) from origin to final destination
Prepare and review all required export/import documentation including:
Commercial invoices
Packing lists
Bills of lading
Certificates of origin
Shipper’s letters of instruction
Ensure compliance with all applicable trade laws, customs regulations, and export control requirements
Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers to schedule pickups, track shipments, and resolve transit issues
Obtain and negotiate freight rates, schedules, and quotes for international shipments
Maintain accurate shipping records, compliance logs, and regulatory documentation
File export information using AES (Automated Export System) as required
Collaborate with sales, operations, and customer service teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery information
Investigate shipment discrepancies or delays, communicating proactively with internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred
2–4 years of experience in import/export coordination, international logistics, or freight forwarding
Working knowledge of Incoterms, international trade compliance, and customs documentation
Experience using ERP or transportation management systems (e.g., SAP, Cargowise, Oracle)
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail
Familiarity with HAZMAT/Dangerous Goods shipping (a plus)
Professional certifications (e.g., CITT, IIEI, or equivalent) are an asset
Pay Range:
$20 – $26 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
Pay Details: $26.00 to $29.00 per hour
