Job Title: Senior Logistics Specialist (Temp-to-Hire)
Location: Mt. Juliet, TN
Job Type: Temporary to Permanent
Compensation: $27-$34 per hour
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Logistics Specialist in Mt. Juliet, TN. This temp-to-hire position offers an excellent opportunity to transition into a permanent role based on performance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with third-party logistics or transportation companies, processing purchase orders, work orders, tracking shipments and inventory.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage daily logistics operations, including shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
Coordinate with third-party logistics providers and trucking companies to manage inbound and outbound loads for orders and shipments.
Negotiate rates with carriers and suppliers to ensure cost-effective transportation solutions.
Process purchase orders and work orders accurately and efficiently.
Track shipments and inventory levels to ensure timely delivery and availability of goods.
Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to logistics operations.
Prepare and present reports on logistics performance to senior management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, with a focus on third-party logistics.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proven leadership and team management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with ERP systems.
