Job Title: Senior Logistics Specialist (Temp-to-Hire)


Location: Mt. Juliet, TN


Job Type: Temporary to Permanent


Compensation: $27-$34 per hour



Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Logistics Specialist in Mt. Juliet, TN. This temp-to-hire position offers an excellent opportunity to transition into a permanent role based on performance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with third-party logistics or transportation companies, processing purchase orders, work orders, tracking shipments and inventory.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Oversee and manage daily logistics operations, including shipping, receiving, and inventory management.


  • Coordinate with third-party logistics providers and trucking companies to manage inbound and outbound loads for orders and shipments.


  • Negotiate rates with carriers and suppliers to ensure cost-effective transportation solutions.


  • Process purchase orders and work orders accurately and efficiently.


  • Track shipments and inventory levels to ensure timely delivery and availability of goods.


  • Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.


  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.


  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.


  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to logistics operations.


  • Prepare and present reports on logistics performance to senior management.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, with a focus on third-party logistics.


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


  • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.


  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.


  • Proven leadership and team management abilities.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with ERP systems.
