LHH is seeking a Healthcare Litigation Paralegal for one of its clients in Nashville, TN. In this role, you will assist attorneys with healthcare litigation tasks to manage cases efficiently. Candidates should have litigation experience, particularly in healthcare, and be skilled in legal processes, research, and document management.
Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough pre-claim investigations, legal research, and preliminary case assessments
Draft pleadings, motions, and appellate documents with precision
Coordinate with clerks from various courts and government agencies regarding procedural requirements
Review and analyze local filing procedures and prepare outlines for upcoming briefs to team members
Perform administrative responsibilities including calendaring hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, managing logistics, etc.
Maintain indexes of pleadings and discovery materials
Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices meticulously
Support attorneys with large-scale document production and other discovery requests
Assist in trial preparation, including exhibit organization and coordinating schedules of all involved parties
Provide support during case settlements
Prepare document productions in response to specific requests
Review and index medical records
Redact documents for production purposes
Facilitate deposition preparation, including exhibit arrangement and scheduling of court reporters and necessary parties
Possess extensive knowledge of state and federal court electronic filing systems and retrieval of case documents
Bates label document productions systematically
Index and review incoming client documents diligently
Organize and maintain an ongoing list of assignments on active cases and participate in team meetings to discuss strategy and upcoming deadlines
Prepare and calendar all deposition-related deadlines, including errata forms and confidentiality designations
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business or related field
Paralegal Certificate from an accredited ABA program
Must possess three to five years of experience as a paralegal in a litigation practice
Possess an extensive knowledge of the principles, methods, materials, and practices of legal research
Experience working with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Lexis, Westlaw, and other computer programs as needed
Pacer experience is required
Relativity experience is required
Strong writing skills to prepare legal documents
Strong written and oral communication skills and must be able to convey ideas effectively
Ability to handle multiple tasks assigned by the attorneys and prioritize them efficiently
Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Pay Details: $90,000.00 to $110,000.00 per year
