LHH is looking for a skilled Healthcare Litigation Paralegal to join a top-tier legal team in Nashville, TN. In this role, you’ll support attorneys in a variety of healthcare litigation matters, performing a range of important tasks to ensure efficient case management. The ideal candidate will have experience in litigation, particularly in healthcare-related cases, with a strong understanding of legal processes, research, and document management.
Responsibilities:
Conduct initial case assessments, legal research, and pre-claim investigations
Draft pleadings, motions, and appellate documents for attorney review
Coordinate with court clerks, government agencies, and other entities on procedures
Review local filing procedures and prepare outlines for upcoming briefs to share with the team
Manage administrative duties, including calendar management for hearings and deadlines, case file organization, and logistics coordination
Maintain indexes of pleadings and discovery materials
Organize documents, evidence, exhibits, briefs, and appendices for case filings
Assist with large-scale document productions and respond to discovery requests
Support trial prep, including exhibit organization and coordinating schedules for all involved parties
Help facilitate case settlements and manage document productions in response to requests
Review and index medical records, ensuring proper redaction for production
Prepare for depositions, including organizing exhibits and scheduling court reporters and other participants
Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of federal and state court filing systems for electronic filing and document retrieval
Label and manage Bates numbering for document productions
Maintain an ongoing list of active case assignments and participate in team meetings to discuss strategy and deadlines
Track deposition deadlines, manage errata forms, and ensure confidentiality designations are prepared
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field
Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-accredited program
5 years of experience as a paralegal in a litigation environment
Strong expertise in legal research principles and methods
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Lexis, Westlaw, and other relevant software
Must have experience using PACER and Relativity
Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
