Accounting Director
Candidate will be required to go into the Manhattan office 2 days a month.
Summary: This position will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, managing core accounting transactions, supporting budget and forecast activities, and performing various reconciliations. This role will also play a crucial part in implementing a new ERP system and re-engineering existing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting Operations and Team Support:
· Oversee and manage accruals across all business sections.
· Prepare and present monthly management reports.
· Assist the Controller in the preparation of quarterly reporting schedules.
· Provide support to the CFO and Corporate Planning in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
· Facilitate the implementation of a new ERP system and the re-engineering of underlying processes.
· Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting and ledger integrity.
· Analyze financial statements, identify discrepancies, and escalate issues to the Controller and CFO as necessary.
· Manage inter-company transactions, ensuring proper invoices and reconciliation.
· Assist the Controller with periodic audits and reviews.
· Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) and other internal control requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required (MBA is a plus).
· CPA certification or equivalent is preferred but not required.
· Minimum of three to four years of accounting experience.
· Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong analytical skills.
· Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
· Experience with financial consolidation systems is a plus.
