Fiduciary Tax Accountant
Location: New York, NY | Hybrid Work Schedule Available

With offices across the United States, our firm is committed to delivering high-quality legal and financial services to a diverse client base. We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Fiduciary Tax Accountant to join our team in New York.
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in fiduciary, estate, and gift taxation, along with a strong understanding of trust accounting and private foundations. This role requires a CPA designation and a minimum of 10 years of recent experience in a law firm, accounting firm, or bank trust department.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare fiduciary income tax returns and maintain financial records for estates and trusts.
Prepare estate and gift tax returns (Forms 706 and 709) and private foundation returns (Form 990-PF).
Conduct estate and gift tax calculations for planning purposes.
Perform tax research and resolve complex tax issues.
Compute trustee and executor commissions.
Calculate and track unitrust and annuity payments.
Coordinate distributions to trust beneficiaries and manage estimated tax payments.
Maintain a tax “tickler” system to ensure timely filings.
Assemble work papers for individual tax returns.
Liaise with attorneys, investment advisors, and administrators on tax matters.
Communicate with the IRS and state tax departments to resolve inquiries and issues.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA required.
Minimum of 10 years of recent fiduciary tax experience in a professional services environment.
Proficiency with ProSystem or GoSystem; familiarity with Omega or OneSource is a plus.
Strong knowledge of Forms 1041, 706, 709, and 990-PF.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Professional demeanor, strong work ethic, and a collaborative mindset.
Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
Pay Details: $180,000.00 to $200,000.00 per year
