Position: Junior Staff Accountant
LHH Recruitment Solutions is working with a Non-Profit/Healthcare company to fill a temporary Junior Staff Accountant position in New York, New York (Grand Central area). This will be an open-ended temporary role with no upcoming end date. We are searching for a candidate with 2+ years of general accounting experience specifically within the non-profit space. Please read on for details on the role.
Responsibilities:
Reconciling multiple bank statements monthly
Performing general ledger reconciliation/analysis
Preparing and posting journal entries
Collaborating with the Development team to reconcile donations and ensure they are applied to the correct general ledger and program accounts
Assisting with month-end reporting
Ad-hoc reports or accounting related projects as requested
Requirements for the role:
Bachelor's Degree is required, major is flexible
Experience within the non-profit sector is a mandatory requirement. Ideally, 1+ year of accounting in a non-profit organization.
Technical Skills/Soft Skills:
2+ years of true GL experience; need to know debits/credits and have experience preparing journal entries
Strong Excel Skills (pivot tables, vlookups) for reporting
Positive attitude and strong communication skills
Schedule:
5 days in office (Near Grand Central) for training period, 4 days in office after a few weeks of training
Hours:
9 - 5 PM (35 hour work week, occasionally working up to 40 hours)
