Nonprofit Senior Accountant, Temp to Perm, Hybrid Downtown Manhattan
LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a large, mission-driven nonprofit organization in Downtown Manhattan to fill a Senior Accountant position on a temp-to-perm basis. This role follows a hybrid schedule with four days in-office and one day remote each week. Key Responsibilities
Perform general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations
Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely
Conduct monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
Track and report on restricted and unrestricted grants, ensuring compliance with donor requirements
Prepare financial statements and perform financial analysis with insightful commentary
Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and support the annual audit process
Analyze expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings
Support ad-hoc accounting and financial analysis projects as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a nonprofit environment
Strong understanding of grant accounting and fund reporting
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs required)
Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or similar platforms
Familiarity with Power BI or Tableau is a plus, but not required
Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
$40-48/hr
Pay Details: $40.00 to $48.00 per hour
