Job Title: Payroll & Benefits Manager

Location: Downtown Manhattan, NY (Hybrid Schedule: On-site Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday; Remote Monday and Friday)

Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,000 per year

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll & Benefits Manager to oversee and streamline payroll processing and benefits administration, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and excellent service for our employees.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Administration:

    • Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time using Ceridian Dayforce (preferred), ADP (secondary), or another payroll system (training available for alternative systems).

    • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

    • Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries regarding pay.

    • Handle payroll tax filings and generate required reports.

  • Benefits Administration:

    • Manage employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and terminations.

    • Act as the primary contact for employees regarding benefits questions, resolving issues with carriers as needed.

    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including ACA reporting and audits.

    • Support the annual benefits renewal and open enrollment process.

  • HR Support:

    • Collaborate with the HR team to maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy.

    • Assist with HR reporting and analysis, utilizing advanced Excel skills to provide insights.

    • Support additional HR initiatives and projects as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.

  • Experience:

    • 5+ years of overall Human Resources experience, including benefits administration.

    • 3+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in a payroll processing system; Ceridian Dayforce preferred, ADP second, but open to other systems with training available.

    • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis.

  • Competencies:

    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

    • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
