LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking a Portfolio Accountant to join our Client’s organization. Position is hybrid in Midtown, NYC.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, enhance, and streamline internal processes and workflows to boost efficiency, minimize operational risk, and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.

  • Provide comprehensive operational and accounting support for both internal and external clients.

  • Maintain and manage the books and records for investment entities.

  • Manage relationships with outsourced administrators and audit/tax firms.

  • Lead, review, and approve quarterly NAV packages.

  • Handle and assist with investment requests, capital calls, distributions, subscriptions, and redemptions.

  • Manage and assist with the flow of tax return information and documentation submissions.

  • Monitor client investment portals on a daily basis.

  • Perform daily bookkeeping tasks for multiple bank and brokerage accounts.

  • Support the onboarding process for new members and investors.

  • Lead and assist with ad hoc projects, including those involving senior management.

  • Collaborate with investment partners, administrators, and audit/tax firms on investment valuations, investor reports, K-1s, and other related tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

  • 3-7 years of experience in operations/accounting within an alternative investment firm (such as private equity, private credit, VC, or real estate), an accounting firm, or as a financial administrator.

  • Strong understanding of operations and accounting, including investor reporting, for private alternative investments (private equity, private credit, VC, or real estate) and funds.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Proven experience in developing efficient operational processes in the finance/alternative investing sector.

  • Experience in wealthtech/fintech is advantageous.

  • Experience working with high net worth and ultra high net worth individuals, as well as family offices.

  • Team-oriented with a flexible attitude, willing to take on tasks of any size.

  • Proficient in handling large datasets.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel.

  • Strong desire to earn the trust of colleagues and key decision-makers.

  • Eagerness to learn and grow.

  • Experience with PowerBi, FundCount, and Allvue is preferred.

Salary $100,000-$130,000 per year
