Position: Senior Accountant – Private Equity
Overview: A privately owned investment firm located in Midtown New York, is actively searching for a Senior Accountant to join their team. With over 50 years of business success, this organization continues to expand their portfolio with over $20b in AUM. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for real estate investments, at the Fund level, ensuring accurate financial and investor reporting. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience within investment accounting, preferably focused on real estate assets. This role allows remote work on Friday’s.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and distribute monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports, including journal entries, accruals, variance analysis, and reconciliations.
Develop and implement procedures for maintaining accurate accounting records and researching financial transactions.
Review invoice coding and approvals, ensuring a complete and accurate audit trail.
Analyze partnership and loan agreements to identify key accounting and reporting considerations.
Draft financial statements and accompanying footnotes.
Address and resolve internal and external financial inquiries.
Calculate monthly management fees and assist with investor communications related to capital calls and distributions.
Coordinate year-end audits and liaise with external auditors.
Work independently and collaboratively to manage the accounting for assigned entities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
5+ years of experience in investment/real estate accounting
Familiarity with real estate accounting software
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Must be a team player with a self-directed work ethic
Pay Details: $115,000.00 to $135,000.00 per year
