Responsibilities
As a Senior Accountant with our client, you would be responsible for:
Maintaining the general ledger and overseeing month-end and year-end financial closing.
Setting up payroll, accounts payable accruals, and deferrals.
Preparing journal entries, allocation entries, and intercompany invoices.
Reconciling intercompany accounts and preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Analyzing revenues and expenses to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Maintaining fixed asset schedules, depreciation calculations, and credit card reconciliations.
Assisting in tax return preparation and compliance with corporate reporting requirements.
Indirectly supervising accounts payable to ensure proper account postings.
Assisting in financial report preparation, variance analysis, and internal control documentation.
Supporting compliance with tax audits and corporate reporting.
Responding to internal and external financial inquiries.
Supervising internal and external audits, including tax audits.
Preparing and filing sales tax returns for multiple states.
Assisting in developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures.
Standardizing accounting processes to improve efficiency.
Preparing financial and statistical reports as needed.
Summarizing financial status through balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you should have:
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in hospitality, food service, or a similar industry.
Expertise in accounts payable, financial reporting, budgeting, audits, tax compliance, and general ledger maintenance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, accounting software, and manual data entry systems.
Strong problem-solving skills, financial data analysis, and strategic insights.
Decision-making capabilities, cross-functional teamwork, and relationship management skills.
The ability to ensure accuracy, compliance with financial policies, and maintain internal controls.
The ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and participate in special initiatives.
The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial data.
A willingness to participate in special projects as assigned.
The ability to work cross-functionally and manage relationships with various departments.
