Senior Accountant | Temp to Perm | Hybrid | Brooklyn, NY
LHH is partnering with a mission-driven nonprofit organization in Brooklyn, NY on an exciting temp-to-perm opportunity for a Senior Accountant. This role is ideal for a candidate with a solid background in nonprofit accounting and hands-on experience managing grants and restricted funds. Key Responsibilities:
Manage full-cycle accounting including AP, AR, bank reconciliations, and journal entries
Oversee grant accounting: track funding, ensure compliance with grant terms, and prepare financial reports for funders
Assist with monthly and year-end closings, including preparation of financial statements
Support budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with program and development teams
Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial data
Prepare for audits and assist with audit schedules and documentation
Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit financial regulations
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or Master’s preferred)
Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a nonprofit setting
Strong experience with grant accounting and fund tracking
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Fund EZ, or similar)
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills
$40-50/hr
Pay Details: $40.00 to $50.00 per hour
