Senior Accountant | Temp to Perm | Hybrid | Brooklyn, NY

This role is ideal for a candidate with a solid background in nonprofit accounting and hands-on experience managing grants and restricted funds. Key Responsibilities:

• Manage full-cycle accounting including AP, AR, bank reconciliations, and journal entries

• Oversee grant accounting: track funding, ensure compliance with grant terms, and prepare financial reports for funders

• Assist with monthly and year-end closings, including preparation of financial statements

• Support budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with program and development teams

• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial data

• Prepare for audits and assist with audit schedules and documentation

• Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit financial regulations

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or Master’s preferred)

• Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a nonprofit setting

• Strong experience with grant accounting and fund tracking

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Fund EZ, or similar)

• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)

• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills

$40-50/hr
