Position Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Manhattan, NY (In-office 4 days a week)
Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,000 per year
Overview:
LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a prestigious client to recruit a Senior Accountant. This pivotal role involves supporting the month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting. The Senior Accountant will collaborate closely with the Controller to maintain financial integrity and support strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare journal entries and complete balance sheet reconciliations during the monthly and year-end close processes.
- Assist with audits by providing necessary account details and documentation.
- Provide insightful commentary and analysis for P&L expense accounts.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts to support financial planning.
Month-End and Year-End Close Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post monthly and year-end journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and adjustments.
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Review and analyze financial statements to identify discrepancies and variances.
- Coordinate with various departments to gather necessary information for closing entries.
- Ensure all financial data is accurately reflected in the general ledger.
- Prepare detailed financial reports and schedules for management review.
- Assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements and disclosures.
- Support the annual audit process by providing auditors with required documentation and explanations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- Experience: A minimum of three years of relevant accounting experience.
Required Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and macros.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
- Solid understanding of financial accounting principles and GAAP.
- Ability to analyze large datasets and generate meaningful financial insights.
- Experience with financial modeling and forecasting.
