Benefits and Compensation Specialist

The Benefits and Compensation Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and administering employee benefit programs and compensation plans. This role requires a deep understanding of various benefits and compensation strategies, as well as strong analytical and communication skills. This is a Contract role located in Oak Brook IL.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and administer employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, life insurance, disability insurance, and flexible spending accounts.
  • Process enrollments, changes, and terminations for benefit plans.
  • Respond to employee inquiries and resolve benefit-related issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Develop and implement competitive compensation structures, including base salaries, incentives, and bonuses.
  • Conduct salary surveys to gather market data and ensure competitive compensation.
  • Analyze compensation data to identify trends and make recommendations for adjustments.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of performance management systems.
  • Analyze employee performance data to identify training and development needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations, including the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Equal Pay Act, and Affordable Care Act (ACA).
  • Maintain accurate employee records and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with employees regarding benefit options, changes, and policies.
  • Develop and deliver benefit education materials and presentations.

Qualification:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in benefits and compensation administration.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and benefit administration software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Job Details:

  • Monday-Friday
  • Pay is $30-$35 an hour, depending on experience
